Seaside Seafood Inc. was founded in 1977 by William "Jerry" Wood as a
retail steamed crab carry-out business. Jerry along with his brother Jim
operated the business in the original location for 26 years. They both
operate the Seaside Wholesale business and deliver their "best" crabs daily
to a few select crabhouses in the Baltimore area. They built the Seaside
Restaurant in 1993 which was later sold in 2001.
In the spring of 2003, his son Eric Wood and his college
roommate, Richard Remeta, purchased the original
carry-out business. In January, 2005, the business was relocated 100 yards
to the other side of Crain Highway - formerly home of "The Big Pencil."
After relocating, the menu was expanded to include fresh fish, broiled
and fried seafood dishes, and a larger variety of seafood items.
Seaside Seafood - "The Carry-Out" prides itself on providing the highest
quality crabs and seafood in the area.
